Submission Policies:
The Informer accepts articles and editorials from students, staff and faculty. Submissions may be made in person or via intercampus mail (bring or address items to Gengras Student Union, Room 158), through U.S. mail (see address below), or by email, without attachments. The deadline for article submission is set by each section editor, and is used at the editor's discretion. All submitted articles are subject to further editing.
We welcome signed letters to the editor. Anonymous letters will not be printed! For consideration, letters must be recieved (by any method above) before the Monday of publication week at 5:00 p.m.
We reserve the right to edit for space, grammar, clarity and content. We will not publish letters we feel are in poor taste or are libelous. The decision not to publish a piece is made by the editors, who are not required to notify the author.
Letters do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Informer in general or any staff member in particular, nor does the opinion of a staff member reflect that of the entire staff.
All advertising is subject to review by the Business Manager and the editors. Any ad that violates University policy will not be run. The deadline for ads is Friday of the week prior to publication at 5:00 p.m. A digital version of our rate card is available here, with a hard copy of the Informer advertising rate card available upon request. Please note that these rates may change without notice.
Publication Information:
Subscriptions to the Informer are available for $25 per year.
The Informer is produced using Adobe InDesign on three Power Macintosh computers, two eMacs, and two iMacs. The Informer uses Kodak digital cameras, an Epson Expression XL scanner, and prints grayscale proofs and color separations on an HP LaserJet 5000 GL. The paper is printed at The Rare Reminder, Inc. in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.
