The Hawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Ryan Crowley knocked in Frank Cipolla with an RBI single to center. Hartford added its second run of the day in the seventh when senior Steve Moyer launched his second career homer, a solo shot to left that cut the deficit to 10-2. URI came back with a run in their half of the seventh before Hartford answered with two in the ninth on a two-run pinch hit homer from freshman Adam Bowser. Crowley finished the day 2-for-5 with an RBI to lead the Hawks offensively. Jason Krajeski took the loss on the hill for the Hawks as he was touched for six runs on six hits in two and a third innings. Rhode Island hurler Adam Perkins held the Hawks to one run on four hits while striking out five over six innings of work to earn the win. Hartford returns
to action at the Northeastern Rumble on Friday, April 1. The Hawks will
