In the Life of Alex

Hey everyone, my name is Alex Eckel and I am a sophomore cinema major planning to minor in communications at the University of Hartford.  Movies have always been a passion of mine, they helped me get through a lot of hard times growing up  and allowed me to put aside my problems for a little while. If I can do that for just one other person then I will be happy. I have never had any interest in directing, I hope to do either the actual filming or post production work. Some people say a lot of behind the scenes jobs are thankless jobs but it takes a lot of people to make a movie and being apart of even a single movie would make me happy. I hope to one day find my name up in the credits.

Though to work in films is a dream of mine it is not my only passion, I love to read and write as well. I am often told that I read too much and have often been poked fun at because I always have a book with me and often a new one every other day.  I have written many poems which I am proud of and I hope to publish a book one day which I have already started.

Something I truly love to do is skate. Thanks to my mother as soon as I could walk I could skate. I have done roller blading, quad skating, speed skating, and for the last two years I have been involved in Roller Derby. I miss derby and skating a lot while at school but luckily i can keep in touch with the derby world online. My Derby alter ego is Little Miss Kamakaze

I am also very family oriented and love my mom, sister, and animals. Here are a few pictures of my family.

Its hard to say who has an interesting life and who does not, in these cases the term to each his own fits rather nicely. I enjoy my life and take on each day with my
with as positive an attitude as I can.
