The Early Years

Dave was born into the clan MacKenzie in Glenshiel Scotland in the year of our Lord 1740. His father was killed at the battle of Culloden during the Jacobite Rebellion in 1745, leaving Dave without a father at the age of five. Shortly thereafter in 1747 Dave, his mother, and brother were fourced to leave Scotland as most of the highlanders were forced from their homes upon conclusion of the Jacobite Rebellion. Penniless and possessing no skills, Dave and his family are fortunate to find work on a farm in the newly formed town of New Hartford, Connecticut. A new found widow has need of a cook and farm hands, and the relationship seems to work out well for all. At the start of the French and Indian War, tired of farming and yearning adventure, Dave joins Rogers Rangers.
