The University of Hartford Farmers Market was established for four reasons:
To bring nutrition and delicious local food to the UH community.
Support the efforts of local farmers that are helping to sustain our local environment and ultimately our community (especially as we enter into a period of great uncertainty with climate change).
Have the Market serve as a catalyst to bring together the UH community in communal sharing of their talents, ideas, and information in the celebratory backdrop of the season every Tuesday during harvest time.
To ultimately be able to help residents in the local areas come to the market who cannot transport themselves.
