E-BILLING INFORMATION

The University is partnering with CASHNet Systems to move from paper bills to online bills. All University of Hartford bills will be delivered electronically via e-mail rather than by U.S. mail. The new billing system will be more convenient and environmentally friendly than the old paper system. This will allow you and others to whom you grant permission, to easily access and securely manage your account online. You will receive an e-mail message through your University e-mail account when bills are available for viewing and payment..

University of Hartford Electronic Student Communication Policy

By moving the bills online, we reduce paper, allow viewing access by parents and others authorized by the student, speed up the delivery of billing statements, and reduce postage costs.

Students will be able to add authorized users via CASHNet Self-Serve by identifying a login, and e-mail address. Once enrolled, the authorized users will be e-mailed their login ID and a temporary password. Included in the email will be a link that will direct the authorized user to log in with the ID and temporary password. The system will then prompt the authorized user to change the password. After confirming enrollment, parents and other authorized users will receive an e-mail notification whenever a bill is ready to be viewed. Students can also disable an authorized user at any time.

When the bill is ready to be viewed (click here for our billing schedule), students will receive an e-mail directing them to log in to the Student Self-Service Center and be redirected to CASHNet Self-Serve to view their bill.
Students and authorized users will also have e-payment options, including ACH and, for a fee, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards (VISA will not be accepted).
Students will have access, via CASHNet Self-Serve, to view the student account in real-time, including pending financial aid items.
Authorized users will have access, via CASHNet Self-Serve, to view recent payment and billing statements.

The bill is the student's responsibility and, as such, e-mails will be sent to the student's University of Hartford e-mail address when viewing of the bill is available. The student's University of Hartford e-mail address is the official notification for e-bill. Students have the option to authorize access to anyone else assisting with payment of the bill. However, there may be a problem with the authorized users e-mail and the University does not follow-up on returned e-mails. Therefore, it is the student's responsibility to insure the billing statement has been viewed by the appropriate parties involved.

Bills must be paid by the due date to avoid late charges. Please note that students are responsible for payment by the due date, even if e-mail notification isn't received or viewed. Students and authorized users can view the student's current balance due at any time through CASHNet Self Serve.

All students are expected to regularly check their University of Hartford e-mail accounts for bill notification and other University official business such as holds and missing documents. Students should check their spam filters and mailbox limits to make sure they can always accept email from the University of Hartford. If you are a student and do not have a current university email account, please contact Information Technology Services (ITS) at 860-768-5999 to inquire about setting up an account. Students can contact ITS with any questions or issues regarding their e-mail account.
