l. List the vocabulary words (in English) that you don’t understand. Look up their definitions in the dictionary and write them down. If you don’t find definitions, note that. Provide a minimum of five words.
2. Alexandrian’s chapter is basically a listing of the different kinds of surrealist objects presented in the 1936 Exhibition of Surrealist Objects. Name them all here.
3. This is a project rather than a question. You are to bring to class a surrealist object. You should be able to classify your object into one of the categories listed in Alexandrian. In the space below, describe your object and explain why it fits into one of the categories listed above. When you come into class, you will form into groups, and the members of your group will be asked to categorize your object without knowing what category you intended.
4. Fer’s discussion of Surrealist objects returns to the concept of
the fetish. Discuss and give an example of three ways in which her
discussion expands upon what you already know about the concept of the
fetish. Use some vocabulary from your lists in writing this essay.
