About the Undergraduate Program

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree offers students the opportunity to major in the following:

The bachelor's degree programs consist of four components, totalling 123 credit hours:

  • The Barney core curriculum containing the basic disciplines in business, including accounting, finance, organizational behavior, marketing, operations management and information systems -- 32 credits
  • Major concentration in business, including a required internship and a senior level applied project -- 21 credits
  • Required general education distribution, including courses in the humanities, social and natural sciences, and mathematics, as well as four courses from the All-University Curriculum (AUC), one of which must be an AUC in the Arts (AUCA) -- 55 credits
  • Business and non-business electives -- 15 credits

The major field of study is completed during the junior and senior years. See the standard Undergraduate degree program of study for the typical sequence of courses. Courses taken to meet the degree requirements of the major must be taken at the Barney School unless specific approval is obtained from the department chair and faculty advisor.

Accounting, economics/finance and management regularly offer major requirement courses in the evening. Most are offered at least once in a two-year period in the evening. Students are advised to check with departments for specific schedules of evening offerings.

In order to qualify for the Dean's List, students must take 12 or more credits each semester and attain letter grades of A, B, or C, with a minimum grade point average of 3.25 (no grade lower than C). Dean's List students are mailed a card recognizing this achievement. Dean's List students are also invited to a luncheon each spring in recognition of their achievement.
