In June, 2000 Mattie traveled
to Japan for three weeks, with 200 other teachers from the U.S.A.
to learn about Japanese schools, culture and educational philosophy and methods.
As a Fulbright Memorial Fellow, she will enhance her music curriculum
using all that she has learned in Japan, and will share her work with
others in her school, town and state.
Mattie Banzhaf teaches music
in Farmington, Connecticut, USA at Union Elementary School
Tendo is a town in Yamagata
