Sports That I Played
As I told you guys in my home page, I played a few sports when I was younger. These sports are soccer, basketball, and sofball. I used to always watch these sports on ESPN when I was younger but then lost interest. They were fun, but eventually all good things must come to an end some time, which is why I no longer play these sports, on actual teams anymore.
Soccer
The first sport that I ever played was soccer. I started playing when I was in kindergarden and I remember always looking forward to going to practice every Sunday. I was actually one of the best on the team, which I thought was really cool because I was one of the few girls who were actually on the team. However, one day, when I was in the second grade, a kid kicked the ball and it hit me in the head, nearly breaking my nose. After that, I refused to ever play soccer again.
Basketball
Basketball was the sport that I played the longest, since it happens to be my favorite of all sports. I asked my mom to sign me up when she found out about it online. I have played on a team for 5 years and out of those years, I have been on a championship team one year. It was really fun and I had a great time, but the reason that I stopped playing basketball was because I was playing in a league where they only had teams up to a certain age and after 5 years, I was too old to play anymore. I would have tried out for my high school team, but I had so much school work that it would be impossible for me to focus on basketball and school work at the same time.
Softball
When I was in middle school, I was very interrested in playing softball during the summer, just because I always used to play catch with my brother and I happened to be very good at catching the ball. My mom suggested that I try out and I agreed because I wanted to play. During the three years that I played, I played the position of catcher. I was actually pretty good at playing that position, being that I was good at catching the ball when the batter hits the ball and then it flies behind her. During my final year of playing, we came in second place, which was the highest ranking for me in softball. The reason that I stopped playing is the same reason that I stopped playing basketball. I was too old to play for that league anymore and since I was so caught up in school work, I was unable to join the softball team.
Hockey
The last sport that I really enjoy playin is hockey. I was once on an all girls hockey team at my camp. The camp was called Camp Monroe There were a lot of girls who tried out, maybe 50 girls, and I was one of the 17 that made it on the team, which I tought was really awsome! A lot of people wanted to be on the team simply because they liked the jerseys that they got to wear, each year, their a different color. But, I wanted to be on the team not just for the jersey, but because and love and enjoy playing hockey. When I was on the team, we lost the first year and the second year, which really sucks because those were the only two years that I was aloud to play. However, I was really happy that I got a chance to be on the team, because so many other people wanted to be on it and got to watch me play, which was nice.
