The American Society of Civil Engineering, ASCE, is a world wide organization that represents civil engineers. Established in 1852, it is the oldest engineering society in the country, with its world headquarters located in Reston, Virginia . ASCE does not only allow communication between professionals but also to students who aspire to join the civil engineering field. The University Of Hartford Chapter Of ASCE allows students to experience team work throughout the year as we hold events and fundraisers. The University Of Hartford Chapter Of ASCE encourages students of all majors to join and participate. Our main focus begining in Fall of 2010 is the ASCE Steel Bridge Competition. Club members will design a steel bridge based on parameters established by the project rules and eventually test it at another school over a weekend where the competition will be held. For further information please feel free to contact ASCE@hartford.edu with any questions. |
