ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30, THE
This session is
important for students interested in the business aspects of advertising.
Speakers will help students gain a better understanding of the career options
available, as well as develop a feel for the real world of advertising and what
professionals look for when hiring people. Also, by having access to
professionals, students can ask key questions concerning advertising careers.
Lastly, the session provides an opportunity for students to learn about the
Advertising Club of Connecticut.
The session
will be on Thursday, October 30 from
Herbert Emanuelson, Account
Supervisor at Adams & Knight Advertising and President of the Advertising
Club of Connecticut, will speak about account service management. Mr.
Emanuelson’s expertise is in strategic planning, account services, public
relations, and new business development. He has received numerous advertising
awards and has extensive experience in financial services marketing and
advertising.
Diane Dawson-Brown will speak
about various positions within the marketing, advertising, communication, and
print fields. Ms. Dawson-Brown is founder and CEO of All the best PEOPLE, Inc.,
which specializes in placement of advertising, interactive media, public relations,
marketing, communications, graphics arts, and printing professionals. She has over 20 years of industry experience.
Charmaine Seavy, who is Media
Director for Adams & Knight, will speak about media strategy and planning.
Ms. Seavy’s expertise focuses on planning, negotiating and placing
cost-effective print, radio, television, outdoor, and electronic/Internet
promotions. She has more than 25 years experience in nonprofit,
business-to-consumer, and business-to-business media planning. A fourth speaker
is yet to be announced. These professionals will speak for 20-25 minutes and
then close with a Q&A session.
The Advertising Club of Connecticut mission is to promote advertising throughout the state
emphasizing professionalism through educational programs and seminars,
networking, exchanging of ideas, and the recognition of creative excellence.
