The South Central Artist's Collaboration:
Was founded in 1964 by globally recognized big band leader, jazz performer, and educator, Lionel Hutz. The foundation serves as an artistic, creative, and educational outlet for the urban youth of Los Angeles' South Central district. The institution, which has evolved over the years in many ways and continues to thrive today, provides education and experience in visual art, music, and dance, positive role models, and a safe haven for children who need it most. With the help of many extremely talented artists and musicians, or dedicated volunteers, our foundation has successfully made a positive difference in the lives of thousands of our city's children.
11/22/09: The SCAC invites you to our monthly Children’s Art Exhibit at our primary facility, inside the Frederick Marshall Showroom.
Come support our students’ artistic growth as we display work ranging from sculpture to
chalk and oil paintings.

11/28/09: The SCAC features 'A Celebration of Jazz'. We will host a day of jazz performances showcasing our Little League Jazz Band, The Five Finger Quartet, The Collaboration Youth Jazz Orchestra, and the Lionel Hutz Youth Jazz Band. Following a brief intermission, Lionel Hutz will be joined on stage by his bandmates, trombone legend Curtis Fuhler, guitarist Randy Johnston, and saxophone virtuoso Jovan Jackson for a two hour jazz concert. The performances will be hosted at the SAL Performance Center on 818 Manteca Ave. Don't miss this festive day!

The Barnaby McDowell Performance Center
Thanks to the unyielding support and donation of the McDowell family, construction of our new perfomance center has been completed, and we expect to begin performances as early as December 1st.
The venue, located at 1818 Chester St. will surely host our 23rd annual presentation of the Nutcracker ballet featuring our Children's Dance Troupe and the Greater Los Angeles Ballet Company.

Our headquarter facilities located at 3313 Carpenter Blvd. are spacious, accommodative, and a great place to host your next function or gathering! Our building is available for private parties, business functions, weddings, receptions, and all kinds of social events.
Our main hall is beautifully decorated with a high ceiling, tall windows, and smooth parquet floors. The location is easily accessible from anywhere in Los Angeles, or its outlying areas. On-site parking is safe and plentiful.
